Istanbul Topkapı University was established by the Council of Ministers dated 21/4/2009 as a Foundation Vocational School with the name Plato Vocational School and 4 departments.

​

Within the scope of the studies carried out to train professionals specialized in different fields and to provide undergraduate education to our country, Istanbul Ayvansaray University was established by Ayvansaray Education Foundation with the Law No. 6761 published in the Official Gazette dated 24/11/2016 and numbered 29898 with the adoption date of 16/11/2016 and Plato Vocational School was affiliated to Istanbul Ayvansaray University in 2016. In parallel with student satisfaction and growth, education services, which started with 4 departments, continued with more than 60 programs in 2016 and the university was among the most preferred foundation universities with high occupancy rates.

Istanbul Ayvansaray University, which continues its educational activities with mission differentiation in the fields of renewal and internationalization, continues its education and training activities by changing its name to Istanbul Topkapı University with a new structuring and law numbered 7382 published in the Official Gazette dated 11/03/2022 and numbered 31775.

The educational activities of the university, which started with a building in 2009, continue with 5 campuses and an area of nearly 100,000 m2 in 2022.

Istanbul Topkapı University includes; Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Graduate Education Institute and Plato Vocational School.

​

Currently, with 25 master's and doctorate programs, 35 undergraduate departments, 56 associate degree programs, it continues to work to train graduates who have adopted the culture of entrepreneurship, have high self-confidence, and will contribute to the business world.

Istanbul Topkapı University's Kazlıçeşme Campus houses the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Plato Vocational School and Graduate School of Education; Balat Campus houses the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture; Şişli Campus houses the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Cookery Program; Levent Campus houses the Faculty of Sports Sciences. Yenibosna Campus is home to the Distance Education Center.
